****Member of The International Guild of Realism****Member of Arkansas League of Artists*** Member Portrait Society of America**** Like most I began drawing at an early age. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of time spent drawing people, places and things that interested a young boy. It was a great escape during times I was ill and confined to bed or the house as there was no internet and only 4 channels on tv to watch growing up in the '60s . There were no museums nearby, just a library and the only chance I had to see paintings were in books and the family bible which as I recall held magnificent works by Carl Heinrich Bloch. That stoked my interest in painting along with a coffee table book of Norman Rockwell illustrations....

Glenn - I am running out of superlatives for your work! I may have to just leave blank spaces for you to fill in with a thesaurus! This is so graphically strong yet imaginatively delicate at the same time. Well done, my friend. V/F
Glenn Beasley replied:
Gosh, Gini...ya got me blushing! Such a compliment from an artist of your talent & caliber means the world to me. Little secret-I entered this one in the Strokes of Genius 6 contest this summer. One in a million chance, but what the heck. I buy lottery tickets sometimes too!...Thanks again and i'm looking forward to your next new work!

I love how the bubble is colored and the rest is black and white. Very good emphasis work.
Shirley Miller
Beautifully done - a really interesting drawing. It's good to see portraits where the subject is doing something (rather than just a face on a page). I really like this drawing for that reason, and for the selective use of colour which draws my eye to the bubble and hand first. I like that! Great detail, love the expression of concentration and the tilt of her head. v/f
Glenn Beasley replied:
Thanks so much, Shirley. I agree. I get so tired of 'say cheese!' or expressionless portraits. I almost did this as a painting but was in the mood for a drawing....but I crave color! so I compromised and got to use my pastels a bit..Thanks again, so glad you like it
