Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
Two young sisters playing hide and seek, the older girl is pulling a bit of a prank on younger sister by hiding behind the same tree she is using to count '8, 9, 10 ready or not!' This is oil on canvas that employs the use of impasto on the tree bark to bring the texture of old moss grown tree more to life. This image is all about the innocence and playfulness of two young girls growing up in the country with trees, fields and just nature itself as their playground. This piece won First Place in the Portrait/Figure division in the 2014 Arkansas League of Artists Spring Show

Glenn, rather than repeat your description verbatim, I'll simply say I agree with every word! It's one of the most appealing depictions of what childhood games are all about--that I've ever seen!
Glenn Beasley replied:
Thank you so much Joseph! This one came together because these little girls were just being themselves, not trying to act or pose. One of those 'happy accidents' that I was able to capture.

I have always admired artists who can achieve realism in their work, and you have become one of my new favorites. This one in particular is amazing.
Glenn Beasley replied:
Thanks Martha. The greatest thrill I get from my art is when another artist really appreciates the extra effort I try to put into my work. I hope you always enjoy my art and that I never disappoint you!
Patricio Lazen
Awesome technique!
Glenn Beasley replied:
Thank you so much Patricio! I see you are also a musician. So am I. Guitarist for 35 years myself. Kindred spirits!
